From observation to action

Can’t I just check this myself?

Yes.

You can open Gemini or Perplexity, ask a few questions and see what comes back. One search tells you what happened once.

The pattern is the part that takes work, and every gap it turns up comes with the sources behind it.

What to look at first

  1. 01Add finished dates to every project pageThese answers quote your track record page and nothing else of yours. Your project pages show launch dates and pictures, but never say when a project was actually finished. That is what buyers ask about, so there is nothing on those pages for AI to repeat.Low effortYour team
  2. 02Explain how buying before completion worksWhen people ask about new launches, competitors get named and you do not. Nothing being quoted explains paying in stages, or what happens if a project runs late. Answer that on your own site and AI has something of yours to quote.Medium effortYour team or MediaDesk
  3. 03Get written about on the two sites AI already quotesTwo websites account for twelve of the sources behind these answers, and neither mentions you. Coverage there puts your name where AI is already looking. It makes being quoted more likely, not certain.High effortMediaDesk, if engaged

Can MediaDesk make AI recommend you?

No.

And nobody can honestly guarantee that. AI platforms decide what they recommend.

MediaDesk shows you what they are saying now, which competitors are appearing, which sources are showing up in those answers, and where you may have gaps worth investigating. Then we keep checking to see what changes.

Evidence, not promises.

Straight answers

Can’t I just do this myself?

Yes, and for one question you should. The work is in the repetition: the same questions across both engines, every answer recorded, competitors and sources noted, then all of it run again later and compared. One search tells you what happened once.

Can you make AI recommend my business?

No, and nobody can honestly promise that. The platforms decide what they recommend. We show you what they say now, who appears instead, which sources those answers lean on, and what changes.

Is this what people call GEO?

Yes. Generative engine optimisation, or GEO, is the usual name for the work of getting mentioned in AI answers, the way SEO is the name for showing up in search results. We keep the term off the rest of this site because it explains nothing to someone who has not met it, but that is the category this sits in.

Do you do AEO as well?

AEO, answer engine optimisation, is the work of actually getting mentioned rather than just measuring whether you are. Monitoring is the product you can buy here; that work is a separate engagement, where we write the evidence pages your category is missing and pursue coverage on the publications the answers already cite. It is sales-led rather than self-serve, so it starts with a conversation. We cannot promise an engine will mention you, and nobody who says otherwise can either.

Which AI platforms do you check?

Your free check and weekly monitoring both ask Perplexity and Gemini. Claude answers through a paid search on every question, so it joins from Growth rather than being run eighteen times a week at $19.90 a month. ChatGPT is reserved in our reporting but its API is not switched on, so no report contains its results. This answer changes the day any of that changes.

What can I do if my business isn’t appearing?

Start with the questions where rivals appear and you don’t, and the sources those answers cite repeatedly. That tells you which pages of yours are thin and which third-party listings are worth correcting. It is investigation, not a guaranteed fix.

Why do the results change?

Because AI answers genuinely vary by model, prompt wording, location and time. That variance is the reason monitoring exists: repeated checks describe a pattern, where a single search describes a moment. How we measure.

How do I cancel?

Monthly, no minimum term, cancellable any time. Billing, cancellation and refunds.
